The original Ghost Busters (1984) was a great success, so of course Hollywood did what it does best: it capitalised on the success by releasing a sequel, Ghostbusters II, in 1989.
Time passed. Lots of it. In fact 25 years or so before Hollywood had another great idea. What about Ghostbusters 3? But this time they’ll make it with only women in the starring roles!
The image in this post is from another movie called Nutbusters, but I’m guessing the promos for Ghostbusters 3 won’t be a lot different, and will be marketed to a similar demographic.
All this is my lead-in to an episode of The Now Show that went to air on BBC4 on 30th January. This particular episode included a commentary by Marcus Brigstocke that was triggered by the news of Ghostbusters 3. Well worth a listen! Just click anywhere on the SoundCloud image below.

As I’ve said before, The Now Show is one of my favourite radio comedy programs, and I’ve been listening to the podcasts for a year or more now. If you’d like to subscribe, copy/past this URL into your favourite podcast software.
