    One of the many lovely presents we received last Christmas were tickets to see Roberta Flack at the Sydney Opera House.  We hadn’t realized at the time that the performance was on Valentine’s Day, so it was a good excuse for a romantic night out for us, as if we needed an excuse.

    Staged alongside Sydney’s spectacular Bondi to Tamarama coastal walk, Sculpture by the Sea is Australia’s largest annual outdoor free to the public exhibition of sculpture. The 2008 exhibition featured over 100 sculptures from 7 different countries.

    For lunch we go to Balmoral Beach for fine-dining at the Watermark Restaurant, and the food was just wonderful. Then Kitinn and the Tapias shout dinner at Bar Me, a music bar in Kings Cross where Carlo was gigging that night.

    I’ve scanned all the photos of our wedding in 1996. It was held at The Gables, a romantic Victorian mansion built in Lidcombe in the 1870s . Linda’s parents were not able to attend, so George King gave the beautiful bride away. George was Linda’s “foster” father from her exchange student days in Adelaide.
