Australia has a new digital news service provider called The New Daily. It went online this week (today?) and draws its news from a number of sources including the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
Financial backing is from not-for-profit industry super funds. The New Daily is headed by Former Age and Herald Sun editor Bruce Guthrie.
I’ve just had a quick look and it’s a clean fast site, but at the moment most content seems to be from the ABC.
I plan to keep it in my favourites along with the ABC, the Australian edition of the Guardian and Al Jazeera. I no longer look at the Sydney Morning Herald now that Gina Rinehart is on the board.
